Children in the Northwest Territories learn under Alberta’s curriculum, adapted for the territories, set by the NWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment. Daily Academy is skills-based rather than built to that document — it is not an approved NT resource — but its 77 tracked skills cover what kindergarten to grade 5 are expected to know, and it reports on each of them separately.
Education in Canada is a provincial responsibility, so there is no national curriculum. Northwest Territories sets its own through the NWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment, under Alberta’s curriculum, adapted for the territories.
The NWT draws on Alberta’s curriculum with territorial adaptations, including Northern Studies and Indigenous language programming that no outside program covers.
